Tips And Tricks For Twitter Marketing

Published by BMT Micro on

When it comes to social media platforms, Twitter is often overlooked in favor of other platforms. With over 217 million users, this isn’t a platform you want to overlook. If you are new to Twitter, or if you are looking to grow your Twitter account, here are some tips to help you market your business.

Polish Your Profile:

Make sure your profile looks good before you start tweeting. Most companies choose to use their logo as their profile photo so that it is easily recognizable. Make sure your image is simple and clean. For your username, or “handle”, use the name of your company. BMT Micro’s Twitter handle is simply “@bmtmicro” so that we are easy to find. If your company has a longer name, consider using a shortened version. Make sure to upload a cover photo, and switch it out as you see fit. Write a short bio, and make sure to include a link to your website.

Getting Started With Twitter Marketing:

To start off with Twitter marketing, do some competitor research, and hashtag research. See what tends to do well, what audiences respond to, and what hashtags are commonly used. Once you start tweeting, you can look at analytics for each tweet to see what your own audience responds to. Part of the fun of Twitter is connecting with your audience, so follow people in your industry, or people who frequently interact with you. You can also choose to follow relevant hashtags. Re-tweeting tweets is another great way to build your content and your audience!

Find Your Voice:

Twitter is one of the most informal social media platforms. Whatever tone you think your audience will respond best to, use. Many companies are more silly on Twitter than on other social media platforms. You don’t have to be constantly cracking jokes to grab your audience’s attention though. MLB GIFs gained their following simply through posting GIFs of baseball games with short, silly captions. General Electric, a company that would not be considered particularly exciting, makes its own fun by sharing short videos or GIFs, as well as exciting industry news. Twitter favors those who are creative and informative, so have some fun creating your tweets!

Make Your Tweets Eye-Catching:

While simple text is fine for some tweets, Twitter users tend to pay closer attention to tweets that include extra content. One of the easiest ways to do this is by using graphics, photos, or videos. Making a quick graphic on Canva will draw your audience’s eye more than just typing out what you want to say. Using video to convey your message is another fun and creative way to get your audience’s attention. Consider sharing new products, behind-the-scenes, fun ways to use your products, or anything else you think your audience would enjoy! You can also add polls to your tweets, or start a thread with pieces of relevant information.

Twitter is one of the best platforms to interact with your audience, get creative, and increase your brand awareness. Although the lifespan of a tweet is only a few minutes, working on your Twitter strategy can help you build a loyal audience. Stay true to your brand and make content that stands out for Twitter success!

Rather of merely typing down what you want to say, making a simple visual using Canva will be more effective in attracting the attention of your audience.
