Social Media For The Holidays
Social media is a great way to reach your audience any time of the year, but around the holidays it can help give your brand a huge boost. Customers are already busy and stressed, so seeing products that they or their loved ones would like while scrolling through their feeds makes it easy for them to get exited about your brand. Here are some ways that you can switch up your social media around the holidays to make them extra special and eye catching.
Know Your Audience:
Being aware of who your audience is makes a world of difference when choosing how to run your holiday campaigns. Do a little research on who your main demographic is, and what content you think they’d like to see. Take into account their demographics and psychographics, their traits, and what traits you’d like to see in your ideal customer. If you think that your product would make a good gift, consider the demographics that would be purchasing the gift in the marketing plan as well. For example, if you are selling children’s Christmas toys, target parents or grandparents in some of the ads so that you catch their attention.
Choose Your Platforms:
Choosing your platforms is an important step in getting your message across to your audience. Social media platforms are easy to access, but different demographics prefer different platforms. Look into what is most widely used by your audience, and consider expanding to reach a wider audience. Using more than one social media platform is great to expand your reach, but don’t overdo it and try to run your campaign on every platform you find. Choosing two or three is a good balance and will allow you reach a wide audience while still letting your target your ideal demographic. You can find a rundown of what demographics frequent which social platforms here.
Consider Promotions:
Running holiday promotions is a great way to encourage your customers to purchase with you. Instagram is a great place to run promotions, as they will come up organically on your followers pages. Having them tag a friend or share you post allows you to reach a wider audience and raises excitement and awareness for your brand. And what better time to give away gifts than the holidays? If you do not want to run a giveaway, consider creating special holiday gift sets. Put together items that pair well, and create special packaging if you have the time and budget for it. Holiday gift sets encourage customers to try new products, and share their favorites with their friends. If you have a solid customer base, you could create a seasonal product that you release only around the holidays. Having a limited release items motivates customers to make a purchase, rather than thinking about it and forgetting about the item. Trader Joe’s is a grocery store well known for it’s season items, and even has fan pages dedicated to their products.
Use Customer Voices:
Don’t just tell your customers that your products are great, let them hear it from other customers! Ask them to review your products, or comment what they love about their favorite product that they’ve tried. Share their reviews on your pages so that potential customers can see what is great about your brand! Sharing reviews or customers using your products on your pages also helps show that you truly care about your customers and their satisfaction, and you get joy out of them having a good experience with your brand. Encourage them to share their favorites with a friend or family member as a holiday gift!
One of the best parts about the holidays is spreading joy, and using your social media to spread some holiday cheer into your customers live’s is easy to do. Listen to their feedback and run your holiday campaigns to bring them happiness and ease the stress of gift shopping. Do you run holiday promotions? Have you even released a seasonal product?
