How To Organize Your Marketing Plan

Published by BMT Micro on

Managing your social media accounts is a tricky task. Between planning new content, running ads, and interacting with your audience, it can get overwhelming. Taking some time to do a little organizing and “spring cleaning” on your platforms and marketing plan can help set you up for success. Not sure where to start? Here are some tips and tricks to help get you started.

Create A Calendar:

Planning out your posts ahead of time is a game-changer. While it is not bad to spontaneously post once in a while, keeping an updating calendar helps you stay organized and cohesive. Look at daily, weekly, and monthly content you want to post, and write it down. This will help you stay on track and get all of your content published at the ideal time. Give yourself a little bit of flexibility, but stick to your calendar as much as you can!

Keep Up With Trending Topics:

Knowing what is trending will help you make the most of your content, without scrambling to create relevant posts. Spend some time on social media, check your analytics, or sign up for a marketing newsletter to help you stay in the loop. Make sure your time your trendy posts right. Trends tend to come and go fairly quickly, and being too late (or too early!) on them can hurt your traffic and sales. You don’t have to hop on ever trend, but if you see a good opportunity, take it!

De-clutter Your Inbox:

It’s easy to let your inboxes get flooded. With so many emails and direct messages coming in, the most important ones tend to take priority. Although it can get overwhelming, set aside some time to go through your messages, and then keep up with them! It is not only helpful to see and respond to messages in a timely manner but also satisfying to see a clear inbox.

Schedule Your Posts:

Scheduling your posts helps you keep everything on track, and frees up your time to work on other projects. It also helps you ensure that you post on your channels at the ideal time, and helps you avoid neglecting any platforms. While several platforms have their own scheduling tools, it is helpful to use all-in-one tools such as Hootsuite to keep everything organized. Using an all-in-one tool also allows you access to analytics and the best times to post.

Work On Time Management:

Set realistic time goals for yourself. Think of a realistic time frame for each task you want to accomplish, and try to get it done within that. It is easy to get lost researching, stuck on a project, or playing around with new graphics. Doing all of your tasks with purpose helps you make the most of your day, and will help prevent you from getting overwhelmed or frustrated.

Spring is the perfect time to clean up and get organized. Find what works best for you, and stick with it! Getting organized is one thing, staying organized is another. There is no one-size-fits-all solution, but with a little discipline and practice, you will find what works best for you. What are your best organizational tips?
