2025 Instagram Trends You Need To Know
Every year, we see new Instagram trends emerge, and new features added. Keeping up with trends can help you stay relevant to your audience and expand your reach. With 2024 coming to an end and 2025 just around the corner, now is the perfect time to research what trends you need to keep an eye on in the new year. Here are some Instagram trends that are predicted to be big in 2025.
Instagram Carousels:
Carousels are not a new feature, but they are bigger and better than ever. You can now add up to 20 photos and videos to each carousel post, making it perfect for a photo dump or storytelling. Try adding images and videos that follow a certain theme, but are not too similar so that your audience does not lose interest.
Embrace Memes:
If you see a trending meme on Instagram and you can find a way to relate it to your brand, it will take you far. Audiences love to see their favorite brands having fun and getting silly with them. Posting trending memes also helps you stay relevant by showing your target audience that you are up-to-date with what is going on on Instagram. Taco Bell does a fantastic job of advertising its menu items while adding humor to its posts. Although their page is not the most aesthetically pleasing, their mix of well-shot content, memes, and authentic content works.
Add Audio:
Instagram now allows users to add audio to photo posts (rather than just videos). Take advantage of this by adding trending audio to your posts! Adding audio makes your posts more engaging for your audience and helps grab their attention. Using audio can also help boost your visibility, meaning you can reach a wider audience.
Use Multiple Links In Your Bio:
Instagram has updated its link in bio feature, now letting users add multiple links. Use this to your benefit by linking your most important pages to your bio. Your website should remain linked, but you can get creative with your other links and switch them out as you see fit. For instance, if you create a holiday gift guide, that would be the perfect link to add so your customers can go directly to that page. If you have another social media account that you think your Instagram followers would enjoy, link it! You can add up to five links, and while you do not necessarily need to add all five, having multiple links will benefit you.
Keep It Simple:
Often, the most simple content performs the best. Users have been leaning towards low-investment shots (meaning it looks like you just whipped out your phone and took a quick photo or video) over higher-quality content. Although you should still edit your simple content and continue to mix in high-quality photos and videos, adding in these low-investment shots helps give your page a more authentic and familiar feel. They are also very quick and easy to create, so give them a try!
Authenticity:
Audiences have been gravitating towards authenticity in brands, rather than a perfectly curated image. Showing off some behinds the scenes shots of your office, packing up orders, employees at work, or glimpses of your city can do wonders in building your audience and increasing engagement. Although you don’t need to share everything with your audience, giving them a glimpse at the people and place behind the brand will help you grow.
Instagram trends are always growing and changing, but they are important to keep up with so that you do not get left behind. What have been your favorite Instagram trends this year? What trends do you predict will be big in 2025? Let us know in the comments!
