Six Hidden Instagram Features You Need To Know About

Published by BMT Micro on

Social media platforms are constantly evolving, and keeping up with new trends and features can be tricky. Most times new features are not announced, and you are left to find them on your own. Instagram has a trove of features many users don’t know about. If you are looking to take your Instagram account to the next level, here are some new and hidden features that you might not have discovered yet.

Music On Carousels:

Music on Reels and Stories is nothing new, but now you are able to add them to you Carousels as well! Adding a song to your newest photo dump can help set the tone and grab your audience’s attention. After you choose the photos you want in your carousel, hit next, and then select the music note icon in the top right corner. From there you’ll be able to select your preferred song.

Polls In Comments:

Curious what your audience thinks? You can now add a poll in the comments section! To add a poll, start uploading your post as usual. When you reach the caption section, click the caption box, and select “poll” in the left corner. Once you write your question, you can create up to four responses. Once your post is published, you cannot edit or make changes to your poll, so make sure to proofread.

Interactive Bio:

You are now able to add information directly to your bio. Information like your phone number, website and address can be added as clickable content, so your audience can find what they are looking for with ease. To use this feature, you must have a business profile. Once you have your business profile, click “edit profile”. Then you will scroll down until you see “contact options”. Select that, add the contact information you want to include, and you are all set!

Pinned Comments:

You probably knew that you could pin Instagram posts, but did you know that you can also pin comments? Typically Instagram displays comments in chronological order, but sometimes they will show the most liked comments first. If there is a comment that stands out to you that you want your audience to see, you can pin that to the top of the comments section. You can pin any comment, but the most useful comments to pin are those that ask a frequently asked question, share a positive message, or are entertaining and relevant to the post. The goal of pinned comments should be post engagement, so if you pin a comment make sure that it is one that ads value to your post!

AI Stickers:

Instagram comes with plenty of pre-loaded stickers for your Story, but sometimes you can’t find just what you are looking for. Instagram’s new AI Sticker feature allows you to create your own custom sticker. To create your own sticker, select whatever content you want on your story, and select the sticker icon at the top of the page. Scroll down until you see “AI Sticker”, select a prompt, and create your sticker.

Take Orders:

Shop-able posts have been available for awhile, but did you know that you can link products to your Stories as well? Once you’ve uploaded a photo or video, click the sticker icon and choose “Get Orders”. From there, you can add up to 10 photos, a title, and the price of your product. If customers are interested in making a purchase, they can view the product details and send you an order request.

Instagram has many more lesser known and hidden features, so take some time to play around on the app and see what you can discover! Have you found any hidden features? Which ones are your favorite?
